When you upload a video and it is going through the rendering process, you have to make sure that you have thoroughly went throught the Ad Revenue Settings to make sure that you have all the appropriate boxes checked and options chosen. When putting up a video..
- Make sure to choose "ad-supported" (unless you are renting the video)
- Graphics and Pictures? Check no to everything (You have no copy write)(unless you honestly do)
- In the box underneath, clearly state that you own the rights to the video (using the statement down below is descriptive and to the point)
- "I own the copy write and world wide distribution rights to this video. This is me in this video and no one else appears in this video but me." (If there is someone in this video, let YouTube know who they are, who they are to you, and that you still own all of the rights. Sometimes they want you to send them a signed agreement but this isn't usually requested.)
Also, if you use music, make sure to put in the appropriate information in the box as well (Check out Part 9 and Part 53 for more information on this)
There are also other boxes you have to check before submitting your video to YouTube for Ad support but it is very self-explanatory. For a more descriptive visual example, you can check out RJared's channel and watch the video for YouTube Partnership Part 56.
